Generac GB2000 Review
A 2 kWh station from the best-known name in home generators. The battery is a useful size, but 1,600 W of output limits what you can run at once.
The GB2000 stores about the same energy as the Bluetti Elite 200 V2, but its 1,600 W output is the lowest on our list, and its $1,599 list price is close to stations with twice the output. It makes sense if you already own Generac equipment or want the Generac name and dealer network. Otherwise, other stations give you more for the money.
Who it's for
Buy the GB2000 if you trust Generac, already use its generators, and mainly need to run a fridge, internet, lights and small electronics one or two at a time.
Skip it if you want to run a microwave and a fridge together, a space heater, or anything else that pushes past 1,600 W. The Elite 200 V2 has 2,600 W for a similar or lower price.
Key specs
| Spec | GB2000 |
|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 2,106 Wh |
| Expandable | No |
| Continuous AC output | 1,600 W |
| Surge | 3,200 W |
| Voltage | 120V only |
| Price per kWh | About $759 at list |
What it can run
You get about 1,790 usable watt-hours after inverter losses.
hours ≈ 2,106 × 0.85 ÷ watts used
- Typical fridge only (about 100 W average): roughly 18 hours.
- Fridge, router and LED lights (about 220 W average): roughly 8.1 hours.
- CPAP without humidifier (about 40 W): roughly 45 hours, about five nights.
The 1,600 W limit is the catch. A fridge (about 200 W running) plus a 1,000 W microwave fits. A fridge plus a 1,500 W space heater does not. A ½ hp sump pump (about 1,050 W running, 2,150 W to start) will run on its own, but leave little room for anything else.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Trusted home backup brand
- About 2 kWh, enough for a fridge overnight
- 3,200 W surge starts a fridge or small pump
What to know
- Lowest output on our list at 1,600 W
- Pricey per watt compared with Bluetti and EcoFlow
- Not expandable, no 240V

Bottom line
A reasonable 2 kWh battery held back by low output. Choose it for the brand; choose the Bluetti Elite 200 V2 or EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus for more capability per dollar.
